  • navigating family relationships

  • communication

  • childhood concerns

  • anxiety

  • attachment

FAQ:

  • I provide paperwork and review all policies in our intake session.

-My rate per 50 minute psychotherapy or coaching session starts at $180.

-I maintain a portion of my caseload for sliding scale cases to be determined at my discretion.

-This rate typically increases by a small percentage each year to account for cost of living & increased overhead costs and follows market rates for my credentials, continuing education, and experience level.

-Phone calls longer than 15 minutes will be considered as sessions and will may be charged a percentage of your rate.

-Payment is due the date of your session.

-I do not accept any forms of insurance. However, I can accept an HSA/FSA card. Additionally, I am able to provide you with an out of network statement for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

-I maintain a 48 hour cancellation policy not including weekends or holidays. Without 48 hours advance notice, you will be charged the full rate of service.

  • -E-mail is the best way to communicate with me.

-Communication outside of sessions should be primarily to discuss scheduling. If you need to talk about something outside of a scheduled session, let me know so we can set up a time to talk!

-I practice outpatient psychotherapy and this level of care is not an emergency service.

-I make every effort to respond to emails, phone calls and voicemails within 24 hours - 48 hours, except on weekends and holidays.

-Virtual sessions are a wonderful and accessible option! Please think of your telehealth sessions as if you were coming into the office practice appropriate boundaries.

-I am only available for in-person appointments on Wednesdays at the West Chester, PA location.

-For in-person sessions, please know that my dog is always with me in the office. If you are not comfortable with dogs or have any allergies to dogs, please consider virtual!

-I may be able to write an emotional Support Animal letter depending on your circumstance. This may incur an additional fee.

  • -In the state of PA, adolescents age 14 or older are able to provide their own consent to treatment.

-When your child turns 14, I update all consent paperwork with their signatures.

-When a child’s biological parents or legal guardians are married, the state of PA requires the consent of one parent for minors under the age of 14 to participate in therapy.

-When parents/guardians are separated or divorced, the state of PA requires consent of both parents/guardians for children under the age of 14 to participate in therapy unless there is a legal document giving one caregiver sole custody of the child.

-I will ask for relevant custody information to determine if we are an appropriate fit as I do not provide custody evaluations.

-Most of the things we talk about will be confidential. However there are times that I may need to discuss things with caregivers. These include:

    • If I believe the client is being hurt or abused by someone.

    • If I believe the client may hurt themselves, someone else, or damage someone’s property.

    • If I believe the client is misusing drugs, using alcohol, or doing anything else that is against the law.

    • If I have been given written permission (consent) to talk to other professionals working with the client or client’s family.

  • Navigating the mental health system can be confusing!

-I believe in advocating for my clients and arming them with education about things such as levels of care (ie. outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization programs, etc.) and different types of mental health services.

-I frequently refer to other providers to provide additional or specialized support. This includes psychological evaluations to seek a formal diagnosis (ie. ADHD, OCD).

-I am able to collaborate with other professionals (psychiatrists, registered dieticians, therapists, guidance counselors, etc.) to provide comprehensive treatment.
